Now, you don’t have to write a memoir like Beth Moore for the whole world to read, but maybe you can try sharing your story in a safe space, such as with a therapist or maybe a close friend. This is why it’s so important for us to own our stories and to share them as God leads us to do so. In fact, some of the most influential people do so out of the power of God at work in their lives despite the challenges they have faced. Sometimes we think that people we see on a platform have it easier than we do, or haven’t had as much pain. If you need to know that God can work in your life despite your difficulties, this interview is gonna bless your socks off. As the Word assures, “… God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” The hard parts of Beth’s story have allowed her to have a tender heart for women who have tasted the sting of abuse and to come alongside them as they get back on their feet. Beth can now see how God weaved the heart-wrenching pain of her past into the beautiful ministry she has today. Telling your story requires you to be exposed and vulnerable, but it also has the power to encourage others by reminding them they are not alone, and assuring them that victory is possible. It’s not always easy to share your personal story, especially when it is painful and filled with suffering and guilt.īut no matter how difficult the story is, sometimes it is just THE TIME to share your story. Through the years, Beth has always shared bits and pieces of her life and has alluded to experiencing some very difficult situations, but she has never fully detailed the specifics of her story. She has also written numerous books and Bible studies. In 1994, she founded Living Proof Ministries to encourage women to know and love Jesus through the study of scripture. If you don’t already know who she is, Beth Moore is a New York Times bestselling author and speaker whose conferences take her across the globe. Her memoir is an authentic and honest description of how, by the grace of God, she was able to come to the point where her decisions are no longer dictated by her pain. Beth courageously opens up about the good, the bad, and the ugly details of her life. She’s a dear friend of my family and she’s also been on my “podcast wishlist” f-o-r-e-v-e-r!
